why do i always think it's someone i want to talk to?

I'm having fun with telemarketers these days. Since I moved and got this new phone number I made it back onto the call list. Today's little gem was when a woman from the Boston Globe tried to sell me a subscription. Here's our conversation:
LADY: Do you want to receive the Boston Globe at your home? It's only $1.74 per week. It includes every day, even Sunday.
ME: No thanks, I don't read the paper.
LADY: Oh, so you have a another paper you prefer to read.
ME: No, I don't read any papers.
LADY: Really? So where do you get your news? I need to know for marketing purposes.
ME: I don't need news.
